MCV Coaching model

The circles in the Coaching model are to be understood as levels of change, or clarification, where, for example, a problem, a goal, or one’s own mission is located. To solve the problem each of the topics on both directly adjacent circles must be worked on. 

In the coaching dialogue, the levels provide a thought structure for the course of the conversation, or the impetus for the next question. We are moved from the outside, from the features of life lived (relevant environments, resources like space, time and energy, our skills, strategies and conduct), to the inside, towards the criteria of the sought-after experience (Values, Identity, Purpose, Vision, Life Issues).

Particularly then when the coaching conversation stalls and answers become more difficult, it can help to go back again to a level positioned further out. A question which is closer to the sought-after experience can also be helpful.
